Sean Martinfield

Seán Martinfield is a native San Franciscan. He is a Theatre Arts Graduate from San Francisco State University, sang professionally for 20 years, and is a popular vocal coach to Bay Area singers and actors of all ages and persuasions. His clients appear in theaters and cabarets throughout the Bay Area, as well as in Broadway National Tours including Wicked, Aïda, Miss Saigon, Rent, Bye Bye Birdie, and are featured in major City events including Diva Fest, Gay Pride, and Halloween In The Castro. Seán is an Internet consultant in vocal development and audition preparation. At AllExperts.com he has published thousands of responses to those seeking his advice on singing techniques, professional and academic auditions, and careers in the Performing Arts. Seán’s Broadway and Pop/Rock clients have all profited from his vocal methodology, “The Belter’s Method”, which is being prepared for publication. He is the Editor and Fine Arts Critic for SanFranciscoSentinel.com, covering the San Francisco Opera, Ballet, and Symphony, as well as major Broadway musicals and plays. He also covers events at the fine arts museums – including the de Young, Asian Art Museum, Contemporary Jewish Museum, and the Legion of Honor where he has appeared as a guest lecturer. For over five years, Seán has served in the office of San Francisco Supervisor Bevan Dufty where he is referred to as the “Master Volunteer”. Since Valentine’s Day, 2004, Seán has served as a Deputy Marriage Commissioner, and is honored to have officiated at the weddings of hundreds of same-sex couples. In 2009, Seán and his partner Tom celebrate their 23rd Anniversary. Seán loves to cook. He takes great pride in his baking skills, especially his chocolate pie, triple cream cheesecake, and peanut butter birthday cakes.
